Below is a quick run down of the week’s events, mainly for the Amateur Organ Builders who were unable to attend this year Rendezvous. But planning coming along to next years event if we are lucky enough for a 4th Rollcutter Rendezvous, and would like some insight to any forth-coming event.

The 3rd Rollcutter Rendezvous. a relaxed, informal event for amateur organ builders. Was held by Peter & Rosemarie Hood. St. Nicholas-at-Wade, Birchington, Kent from the 6th to 11thJune 2006.
Saturday & Sunday 10th 11th. Days for the public to come along and see all the hard work that go into building organs and how they work and sound. In attendance was Craft stalls refreshment in the marquee, ice cream, kiddies ride and so on. Surely a must event for Amateur Organ Builders and enthusiasts. This event was well planned and set out on a well maintained almost describable as a Bowling Green with good access and amenities. Full marks for disabled consideration. All laid out in what one can only describe as one of the most picturesque settings one is likely to see, over looking open fields to the sea.
Exploring the local surroundings. If you like to explore the local surroundings your just a short walk from a small village, with 2 pubs, post office and general food & paper shop, antique shop, even a lovely church which was open for Sunday service. There is a local super market with a fuel station again in walking distance for the agile. And just to round it off you are just a couple of minutes from streets packed with all manner of shops just about every thing you can think of. And to boot very nice seafront resort with all the trimmings.
Health and safety issues. If you have had the misfortune to come across me with a health and safety issue will know I will always voice my opinion on any breach of health and safety full stop regardless of any consequences that any organiser will throw at me. It felt like my personal Holy Grail as come to the end. I had NO yes NO course to pick up on any thing to bang on about at all, and believe me that’s a first. I don’t go looking for issues I just seem to see them instantly but maybe that’s because in all my businesses I am responsible for the implementation and enforcement of health and safety. Nice to see an event run and planned to high level of health and safety. Most wouldn’t even of seen all the health and safety measures implemented. This just goes to show that with good management health and safety does not detract from any event. Well done Peter, I’m assuming you are responsible for health and safety. Has you can see from the above a busy but relaxed informal week for all. Hats off for all the hard work Peter & Rosemarie put into planning & running the event. Your attention to detail is what makes the Rollcutter Rendezvous a success. And what makes the trip worth doing for all us Amateur Organ Builders. Once again thanks.
