 The Dean project page 1.
Just thought some of you out there might be interested in mine and her in doors (the wife) antics with our latest acquisition a 53 keyless Dean organ and its removal out of it’s display vehicle in a very limited space. Of course we hired a fork truck and a team of men to help with it.  Sorry just kidding after all we are a do it yourself bunch. Yes your right I did it myself the Egyptian way. Onto 16 palates 8 each end. Lift one end and pull one pallet out. Put it down run round the vehicle well clamber under it. Pick up the opposite end and wait for it! Take out one pallet from this side and so on until it’s on the floor. hey! it was good enough for the pyramids.
Now for all you interested folk I had the unit on a weighbridge it came out at 5.45 tons.  That’s with the 145 music books and it’s shelving and the generator that came with organ. So with the organ out of the dodge display vehicle and all its paraphernalia books, generator, and so on. Its back to the weighbridge to find out its weight of the display vehicle without the organ and all if paraphernalia. By having the vehicle weighed empty we can work out the total mass of the organ and is books, generator, and so on, which all comes out a 1.23 tons. This calculation is needed so we can work out the capacity of the trailer that will be needed to handle the load of the organ and it’s equipment. Now we have that info we can send it to the trailer design team, so they can build the new but old looking display unit. Yes you know it will be just me and her in doors that will be building the new unit. But on this project we will be buying the flat bed trailer in. We are going to coach build along the lines of a showman’s living van. We did considered a box trailer but we think all though they look nice and do the job very well a bit too modern looking for us oldies. I know when you see me you will give me your right boot for saying that.
